OFFICIAL GAMING LCD MONITOR OF THE WORLD CYBER GAMES 2007

SINGAPORE , 3 August 2007 – Samsung Electronics, the worldwide market leader in LCD displays, today unveiled the Samsung 226CW Widescreen LCD Monitor at the World Cyber Games in Singapore. The official monitor of the World Cyber Games 2007, the 226CW features 1680 x 1050 resolution which enables it to display colours close to vivid reality. Together with a 2 ms response time and 3,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, the 226CW offers gamers the ultimate gaming experience.

Part of Samsung’s Wide Colour Gamut series, the Samsung 226CW features 97 per cent of the NTSC (National Television System Committee) colour gamut for CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) displays. The 226CW’s upgraded CCFL colour display has been extended within the red and green spectrum to showcase deeper, more multi-dimensional pictures. This groundbreaking colour range is an 18 per cent improvement on the previous standard for LCD monitors.
With the 226CW, gaming enthusiasts can expect a theatre-quality visual experience combined with rich, clear images visible even during dark and dramatic game scenes. The 226CW’s widescreen and dynamic contrast ratio outlines every detail while its rapid response time, with Fast Image Processing, enables precision imaging with no ghosting whilst gaming or watching action movies.

The Samsung 226CW Widescreen LCD Monitor is available at a recommended retail price of $660. The Wide Colour Gamut series includes a 19 inch model, the 931CW, available at a recommended retail price of $415.
